Artists Monica Canilao, Richard Coleman, Saelee Oh, RETNA, Swoon & Ben Wolf visited the neighborhood in October. Using funds from the Juxtapoz art auction, PHP purchased houses on Moran Street where the artists worked. Each artist approached the vacant houses and the city in an entirely different way, bringing concepts of assemblage, collage, fantasy, decorative elements and surface treatment to this neglected block in the neighborhood.
Future plans for these houses range from live/work space to artist collective home base to recording studio or film shoot location. For now, the houses stand as artworks and PHP will offer public tours the first Saturday of every month for all to enjoy.
