RIDE IT SCULPTURE PARK
is a public park along the Davison Expressway, combining elements of skateboarding with public art and greenspace into a unique neighborhood landmark. Ride It is an evolving experience of art and skateable surfaces. Past projects include: two distinctive design/ build phases with notable skater/builders including Evergreen Skateparks; host to Matthew Barney’s Drawing Restraint 19 event performed by legendary skater Lance Mountain; outdoor performances, videos, and music. An upcoming commissioned work by artist Nari Ward will transform the park’s eastern edge. Open every day from dawn ‘til dusk, Ride It provides outdoor space for all ages and from diverse backgrounds – social, economic and geographic – to constructively and creatively cross paths.
Phase 3 coming spring 2016 with artist Nari Ward
Phase 2 built October 2013 with Evergreen Skateparks
Phase 1 realized Summer 2012 with Northwest Concrete Structures
